Like a torrent of tidal waves, the road to Applecross is famed for its swells. At its highest, the Bealach na Ba mountain pass reaches 626m, immediately tumbling down to form a series of hairpin bends and hair-raising turns.
Simply referred to as ‘the street’, the town is full of culinary charm. The Applecross Inn isa must-visit; renowned for its award-winning fresh seafood and highland game meats, as is the Applecross Smokehouse where smoked fish is top of the menu.
Believed to be one of the earliest settlements in Scotland, Applecross retains its solitude across a remote peninsula in Wester Ross; giving the surreal impression of being at the edge of the world.
The powerful and fiery orange tone anchors this entire colour scheme, bringing together the ecru and beige of the Mercedes body with a sombre steel counter-tone.
The orange in this palette, a toned ginger, adds a hint of spice to the otherwise cool surroundings adding a fresh burst of buoyancy to the grey tones. The creamy tones can also level out the punch of the ginger.
